Screen Studio
Screen recorder for Mac with automatic zoom, smooth cursor effects, and built-in video editing.
Screen Studio is a macOS screen recorder and video editor for product demos, tutorials, and walkthroughs. It automatically animates zooms around on-screen actions, smooths cursor movement, and adds customizable framing so recordings need less manual editing.
Record and edit walkthroughs
- Flexible recording: Capture a full display, app window, or selected region, with microphone, system audio, and optional webcam footage.
- Automatic and manual zooms: Focus on clicks or selected areas, with cursor smoothing, click effects, and editable pointer size and style.
- Transcript-based editing: Cut spoken sections by editing text, reduce filler words and pauses, trim or speed up clips, and generate captions on the Mac.
- Camera layouts: Switch between screen-only, picture-in-picture, split-screen, and camera cutout views, with on-device face tracking.
- Branding and clarity: Apply backgrounds, spacing, shadows, and reusable presets; mask sensitive details or highlight a region after recording.
Export and share
Screen Studio can also record a connected iPhone or iPad over USB and place its footage inside a device frame. Export MP4 video at up to 4K and 60 fps or create GIFs. Videos can be shared using hosted links, and editable projects can be sent to teammates. Recordings and most processing stay on the Mac; optional sharing and cloud tools send selected content online.
Requirements and pricing
The app requires macOS 13.1 or later and at least 8 GB of RAM. It supports Apple Silicon and specific Intel MacBook Pro and MacBook Air models. macOS permissions are needed for screen recording and related capture features.
It can be downloaded and evaluated for free, but exporting video files requires an active subscription. Pricing starts at $9/month billed annually ($108/year), or $29/month with monthly billing. New one-time licenses are no longer offered.
